Armenia's foreign trade grows by 56.2% in eight months

Armenia's foreign trade in the first 8 months of 2022 surged to over $7.8 billion, having grown by 56.2% from the first 8 months of 2021, according to the numbers, released today by the National Statistical Committee (NSC).

It said in August 2022 alone the foreign trade surged by 2.1 times from the same month of last year and by 17.6% from July 2022. In Armenian national currency the 8-month trade was worth 3.478 trillion drams.

Armenian exports grew by 53.9% to $2.923 billion. In August 2022, compared to August 2021, the exports increased 2.1 times, and compared to July 2022 - by 17.5%. In dram equivalent, exports amounted to over 1.294 trillion.

Imports during the reporting period totaled $4.9 billion, recording an increase of 58.2% compared to January-August 2021. In August 2022, imports increased 2.1 times compared to July 2021 and 17.7% compared to July 2022. In dram equivalent, imports were worth 2.184 trillion, ARKA reports.
