Merab Gogotadze, co-founder of Hotel Solomoni in Kutaisi, says that the suspension of Kutaisi airport during the pandemic put the tourism industry and all its directions in a difficult situation.

As Merab Gogodze explains to BM.GE, their hotel was dependent on foreign tourists by 99%, who came to the country by Wizzair.

"Suspension of the airport is not just a stop for the people employed there, it has an impact on many other sectors including, taxi drivers, hotels, shopping centers. It is a very big chain of people who are employed in this direction, especially in the summer, ”said Merab Gogodze.
