Deputy Minister of Health, Tamar Gabunia declares, that a plan on how to make vaccination in Georgia will be ready late in January.

According to her, vaccination will most likely start in the country from spring. "This is a realistic scenario," Tamar Gabunia said.

"As for vaccination, the first requirement for a country introduction of vaccination plan, including the cold chain, staff, and etc. Work is underway and a plan will be finalized by the end of January. Both the Asian Development Bank and a group of experts from Georgia are involved in the process and, of course, we will fulfill the conditions.

As for the cold chain, Georgia can already receive and start vaccination with the three vaccines that are advanced today. We are talking about "Astrazeneca", which needs a cold chain of 2-8 degrees. We can get it through the COVAX platform. There is also the option of Pfizer, which requires -70 degrees, and the "Modern" vaccine, which requires -20 degrees. There are several refrigerators in the country for this cold chain," Tamar Gabunia said.
