Amiran Gamkrelidze, the head of the Center for Disease Control, believes that the third, a so-called "booster dose" of the vaccine, will be needed.

According to Gamkrelidze, the third injection will probably be needed 6-8 months after the second dose vaccination:

"A lot of research is being done on booster doses. Most likely, a third booster dose will be needed. One view is that coronavirus infection can become a seasonal infection that will require one injection each year, just like during the flu. People who have been vaccinated twice are monitored for how long their immunity is maintained.

Most still think that a third dose will be needed for many vaccines. My personal opinion is that perhaps we will need a third dose to build a stronger artificial immunity in the population. It is not specified in what period a third injection will be required. Most likely, it should be somewhere in between 6 to 8 months after the second dose vaccination, "Amiran Gamkrelidze said.
