David Narmania, the Head of the Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission declares investment environment is attractive in the energy sector.
The head of the GNERC explains the attractiveness of the sector with the legislative changes.
"There is a great potential for development in the energy sector. On the one hand, it requires investments, and on the other hand, maximum cooperation between the investor and the public. In line with economic growth, the demand for energy in our country is growing every year. This demand needs to be met by local resources. There is potential in the development of both hydro and wind energy, for which we have received the necessary regulatory framework from the Parliament and the regulator.
The ground is good, as the investment environment is attractive. The main thing is that where investment projects are delayed, there should be a dialogue and negotiations between the investor and the public. If further research is to be done again, it should be continued to prove that these projects are harmless in terms of environmental protection," said David Narmania.
