Head of NCDC: All vaccinated persons will be given a bilingual certificate

"All vaccinated people will be given a certificate. This is a bilingual document. The relevant medical institution will sign it and stamp it," said Amiran Gamkrelidze, NCDC Director.
 
43,200 doses of the first batch of COVID-19 vaccine produced by AstraZeneca arrived at Tbilisi International Airport this morning. According to the Ministry of Health, the vaccination process will start on Monday, March 15, in the medical institutions selected by the Ministry of Health, and before that, it will be transported to districts and municipalities on weekends. According to the national plan, vaccination will start with medical staff.

In the first stage, personnel who do not have the status of COVID-infection for the last 120 days will be vaccinated. According to the latest data, 64,051 people are registered on the electronic portal, of which 54,000 are to be vaccinated.

The AstraZeneca vaccine has been authorized by the World Health Organization for emergency use. In accordance with the legislation of Georgia, it has been authorized by the Ministry of Health and the National Regulatory Agency to import and use it in the country.

129,600 doses of Astrazeneca and 29,250 doses of Pfizer have been allocated for Georgia from the COVAX platform, and the supply for which will be completed by the end of May.

According to the Ministry, the trainings of the medical staff and the persons involved in the process have already been completed to start the vaccination process.
