Recovery Of International Tourist Arrivals Was Lower Compared To Turkey And Armenia – PMC

PMC Research Centre reports that in 2021, the recovery of international tourists arrivals to Georgia was lower compared to Europe (38%) and Central/Eastern European (36%) averages, but higher compared to the global average (28%).

Last year, 1,577,463 international tourist visits took place in Georgia, which was a 31% recovery rate compared to 2019 data. In addition, among the selected international benchmarks (Albania, Croatia and Greece), Georgia showed the worst results. The number of international tourists in Albania has reached almost 2019 levels (89%).

Compared to its neighboring countries, Georgia performed worse than Turkey (55%) and Armenia (46%), but better than Azerbaijan (25%).
