Papuna Lezhava, Vice Governor of the National Bank of Georgia (NBG), expects that remittances from Russia will decrease and return to historical levels.

"We predict, this volume of remittances should decrease over time and return to the historical rate, although it is difficult to determine how much time it will take, supposedly more than a year. As for tourism, migrants who enter Georgia temporarily, their entry is also recorded in tourism statistics, as of the studies, a large part of migrants say that they see the possibility of staying in Georgia for half a year or a year.

It all depends on the geopolitical situation. We can say for sure that a major part of this flow is temporarily here, although a small part may stay in the country for a longer time", Lezhava said.
