Remittances increased by 49% in March - Top 10 countries from which money was transferred

According to the National Bank of Georgia, the volume of remittances in the country in March 2021 amounted to 188.2 million US dollars (627.7 million GEL), which is 49.5% (62.3 million US dollars) more than in March 2020.
 
According to statistics, Russia ranks first among the largest donor countries, from which $ 32.19 million was transferred to Georgia last month.

Countries from which most of the money was transferred to Georgia in March:
 
1) Russian Federation $ 32.19 million, an increase of 26.81% over the previous year
2) Italy $ 30.51 million; Growth compared to the previous year 76.29%
3) US $ 24.12 million, an increase of 59.79% over the previous year
4) Greece $ 20.67 million, an increase of 27.32% over the previous year
5) Israel $ 15.62 million, an increase of 32.66% over the previous year
6) Turkey 9.51 million dollars, an increase of 15.00% over the previous year
7) Ukraine $ 8.85 million, an increase of 145.20% over the previous year
8) Germany $ 8.41 million, an increase of 70.19% over the previous year
9) Azerbaijan 7.33 million dollars, an increase of 207.57% over the previous year
10) Spain $ 4.46 million, an increase of 41.43% over the previous year
11) France $ 2.93 million, an increase of 75.33% over the previous year
12) Kazakhstan $ 2.38 million, an increase of 95.50% over the previous year
13) Poland $ 2.19 million, an increase of 5.04% over the previous year
14) United Kingdom $ 1.89 million, an increase of 22.61% over the previous year
15) Canada $ 1.82 million, an increase of 80.61% over the previous year

In March 2021, 24.9 million USD (83.0 million GEL) were sent abroad from Georgia, which is 21.9% more than in the same period of March 2020 (20.4 million USD).
