Meeting is being held among Giorgi Gakharia and the heads of medical institutions at the Prime Minister's administration. The main issue under consideration is Government Resolution 520, which equalizes tariffs for clinics involved in the state public health program. The medical institutions do not agree with the prices set by the Ministry of Health and require their revision.

“We consider that Resolution 520, which came into force on November 20, is completely unprepared, uncalculated and disagreed with clinics and medical societies. We want to suspend this resolution until a consensus is reached on unreasonable tariffs that do not allow us to conduct elementary procedures,” Shalva Rtskhiladze, representative of Khechinashvili University Clinic, told the media.

According to him, they are not opposed to tariff equalization, but this is not a step that should start the reform.

“There should have been a set of minimum standards that would at least allow us to manage the quality of our patients effectively and efficiently. The next step should have been selective contracting and only then tariff equalization, ”Rtskhiladze said.
