Retail Trade in Azerbaijan Stood at US$ 7 Billion in Jan-April

In January-April 2021, products worth US$ 7,058,823,480 (12,0 billion manats), including food products, beverages, and tobacco products at US$ 3,882,352,914 (6,6 billion manats), non-food products at US$ 3,176,470,566 (5,4 billion manats) were sold to the consumers in retail trade network in Azerbaijan.

Compared to January-April 2020 the retail trade turnover increased in real terms by 0,1 percent, including 2,2 percent for food products, beverages, and tobacco products while for non-food products it decreased by 2,3 percent.
 
During the reporting period, 49,0 percent of resources the consumers spent on purchasing food products for final consumption purposes during the reporting period, 5,9 percent – beverages and tobacco products, 13,7 percent - textile products, clothes, and shoes, 6,1 percent - gasoline and diesel fuel, 4,8 percent - electrical appliances and furniture, 2,4 percent - pharmaceutical products and medical equipment, 0,7 percent - computers, telecommunication equipment, and printing products and 17,4 percent - other non-food products, reads the recent data of the State Statistical Committee of Azerbaijan. 
 
In January-April 2021, 27,5 percent of consumer goods in real terms have been sold by trade enterprises, 49,0 percent - private entrepreneurs, and 23,5 percent were sold in markets and fairs. Retail trade turnover in real terms compared to January-April 2020 increased by 15,1 percent - for enterprises, 1,7 percent - for private entrepreneurs, and decreased by 15,4 percent - for markets and fairs.
 
During the reporting period, in the trade network at average monthly per country citizen, there have been purchased products in the amount of US$ 177 (300,4 manats), including food products, beverages, and tobacco products in the amount of US$ 97 (165,0 manats) and non-food products in the amount of US$80 (135,4 manats).
