Retail Trade Turnover in Azerbaijan 1.4% Down in Jan 2021

In January 2021, US$1,882,352,928 (3,2 billion manats), including US$ 999,999,993 (1,7 billion manats) food products, beverages and tobacco products, US$882,352,935 (1,5 billion manats) non-food products were sold to the consumers in retail trade network.

Compared to January 2020 the retail trade turnover in real terms decreased by 1,4 percent, including 4,8 percent in non-food products, while 1,8 percent increase in food products, beverages and tobacco products.
 
During the report period, 52,8 percent of resources the consumers spent to purchasing of food products for final consumption purposes, 15,7 percent - textile products, clothes and shoes, 5,4 percent - gasoline and diesel fuel, 5,1 percent - electrical appliances and furniture, 2,2 percent - pharmaceutical products and medical equipment, 0,7 percent - computers, telecommunication equipment and printing products and 18,1 percent - other non-food products, reads the recent data of the State Statistical Committee of Azerbaijan. 
 
26, 9 percent of consumer goods in real terms have been sold by trade enterprises during the business period, 49,8 percent - private entrepreneurs, 23,3 percent were sold in markets and fairs. Retail trade turnover in real terms compared to January 2020 increased by 12,2 percent - for enterprises, 0,1 percent - for private entrepreneurs, decreased by 15,7 percent - for markets and fairs.

In January 2021, retail trade turnover in average per capita made US$ 186 (316,3 manats), including in the trade network at average monthly per country citizen there have been purchased food products, beverages and tobacco products in amount of US$ 98 (166,9 manats) and non-food products in amount of US$88 (149,4 manats).
