Revenue Service explains to BM.GE why the service warned the citizens engaged in online shopping.

"Timely registration as a taxpayer is one of the main tax obligations. According to the code “on Tax”, a person is required to register as a taxpayer before starting an economic activity.

Based on the above, the Revenue Service implements appropriate administration measures and information campaign is underway to raise taxpayer awareness.

Within the framework of the information campaign, individual communication is carried with specific individuals about their tax liabilities.

Also, videos tailored to specific target groups (for example, individuals renting apartments or engaged in online commerce, etc.) are being prepared, which will be published on the Revenue Service website, as well as disseminated in the media and distributed to all interested parties.

In addition, registration of a natural person as a taxpayer will be available via video call without leaving home.

We would like to remind you that you may have to pay a penalty if you are violating the rules”, the statement of the Revenue Service reads.
