Russia increases tax on wheat exports from USD 94.9 to USD 98.2 from January 12, - according to the Russian Ministry of Agriculture.

According to them, the customs duty on barley will increase from USD 83.5 to USD 86.2, while on corn -will decrease from USD 69 to USD 67.7. The mentioned tax will be valid until January 18.

The export tax is based on the indicative prices of grain, which amounts to USD 340.4 per ton of wheat (USD 335.6 a week ago), USD 308.2 (barley USD 304.4 a week earlier) and USD 281.8 (USD 283.6 a week earlier) on barley.

Russia has imposed a floating tax on grain exports since June 2 this year, which is determined by the value of the grain on the Moscow Stock Exchange.

According to the forecast of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, grain exports amount to 45-48 tons for 2021-2022. Last year the figure was 49 tons, of which 38.4 tons was wheat.

Georgia imports the largest amount of wheat from Russia. 324 322 tons out of 352 576 of wheat, valued at USD 82.9 million, were imported from Russia in 11M21.
