The National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat) published the report on foreign direct investments for 3Q2022. According to the document, during the period, foreign investors invested USD 745 million in the country, which was 99% more than the previous year. According to statistics, the first place in investments is taken by Spain, from which USD 165.9 million came in the third quarter, compared to the previous year, Spanish FDI has increased eighteen times. The second position is occupied by Great Britain with USD 122.9 million, and the third place is Ireland with an investment of USD 120 million.
According to official statistics, USD 41.8 million came from Russia in the third quarter. This is 122% more than the same period last year.
In terms of FDI, the ranking of countries is distributed as follows:
1) Spain - USD 165.9 million, an increase of 1,703% compared to the previous year;
2) Great Britain - USD 122.9 million dollars, an increase of 105% compared to the previous year;
3) Ireland - USD 120.3 million, an increase of 29,975% compared to the previous year;
4) USA - USD 64.6 million, an increase of 103% compared to the previous year;
5) The Netherlands - USD 47.8 million, a decrease of 27% compared to the previous year;
6) Russia - USD 41.8 million, an increase of 122% compared to the previous year;
7) Japan - USD 29.6 million, an increase of 256% compared to the previous year;
8) Czech Republic - USD 24.3 million, a 21% decrease compared to the previous year;
9) Virgin Islands - USD 17.9 million, an increase of 289% compared to the previous year;
10) Denmark - USD 9.9 million, an increase of 2% compared to the previous year.
