Russian Railways has restricted shipments of goods to Kazakhstan in connection with the request of the CIS Railway Transport Council, the company’s press service told TASS.
"The restriction has been introduced in view of the request of the CIS Railway Transport Council due to the buildup of rolling stock on the territory of Kazakhstan," the railway operator said.
Transfer of trains via junction points will grow gradually as a result of talks with China’s Railways, including carriage of export freight to China via Kazakhstan and Mongolia, Russian Railways said earlier, Russia's state-owned agency TASS reports.
