The Russian military has already destroyed 161 educational facilities across Ukraine and severely damaged 1,611.
This was announced on Telegram by Ukraine’s Minister of Education and Science Serhiy Shkarlet, Ukrinform reports.
"Over the 84 days of brutal Russian aggression against Ukraine, the orcs completely destroyed 161 educational facilities, while 1,611 have sustained significant damage," said Shkarlet.
According to the minister, overnight Wednesday, May 18, the Russian army fired proscribed phosphorus munitions at a school in Avdiyivka, Donetsk region, and yesterday – at a kindergarten in Okhtyrka.
Nevertheless, the educational process continues in Ukraine. In some areas, teachers are forced to work with children in basements and other shelters.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, Russian aggressors completely destroyed nine colleges and universities.
In March, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine launched an interactive map of destroyed and damaged educational facilities.
