For 6 months of 2022, the inhabitants of Russia spent 94.7 billion rubles (US$1,558,207,058) for new cars of Chinese brands. As the experts of the agency "AUTOSTAT" noted, it was 12% of the entire financial capacity of the market in the 1st half of the year. More than 90% of this money came from four brands.

The leader is Haval, for the purchase of cars of which in January-June the Russians spent 26.8 billion rubles (US$ 438,245,043). The second place in this indicator is occupied by Chery brand; its cars cost 24.9 billion rubles (US$ 407,175,507). Geely is the third one with a result of 18.6 billion rubles (US$ 304,155,198). Other 15.9 billion rubles (US$ 261,620,826) were spent on EXEED products. The purchase of new cars of other brands from China took only 8.5 billion rubles (US$ 139,860,190), a half of which was taken by Changan.

But for each of the remaining Chinese brands, Russian residents spent less than 1.5 billion rubles (US$ 24.7 mln). As experts of the agency "AUTOSTAT" noted, the costs of Russians for the purchase of "Chinese" in the 1st half of 2022 grew by 19%. But at the same time, the financial capacity of the whole Russian market fell by a half over this period.
