Russia's Share In Georgian Wine Exports Has Increased

Wine exports increased. Despite instability in export markets in January-September, USD 173 million worth of wine left Georgia, 3.9% more compared to the last year. In total, 65.2 million liters of wine were exported, the growth in volume made up 17%.

Despite diversification efforts, Russia remains an irreplaceable market. 63% of Georgian wine exports account for Russia. Exports to this market were up by 15% in 2022. According to official statistics, in 9M2021, Russia had only a 56% share in the export of Georgian wine. In January - September last year, USD 94.9 million worth of wine was exported to this country, and the total export was USD 166.7 million.

Wine exports to Japan have increased this year as well. Wine worth USD 1.046 million was exported to this country in 9 months. The rate has increased by 1.5 times compared to the last year.
