About 1.03 million foreign tourists have visited Armenia since the beginning of the year, the Ministry of Economy reported in a Facebook post, citing the data from the Tourism Committee.
In August alone, some 261,834 foreign tourists visited Armenia. Five countries have contributed to the growth in tourist visits in January-August: Russia (about 45%), Georgia (9%), Iran (7%), the U.S. (3%) and Germany (1%), ARKA reports.
