Deputy Finance Minister Giorgi Kakauridze declares, that salaries in the public sector are in a catastrophic condition and they need to increase.
This assessment of the Deputy Minister was followed by a question from MP Levan Ioseliani, which referred to the low salaries of teachers of art and music schools and, consequently, the need to increase salaries.
"In general, salaries in the public sector are in a catastrophic state. It is necessary to increase it and we are really working to find some resources to regulate salaries in the public sector when introducing the second version of the 2022 draft budget.
As for the long-term settlement mechanism, the government must approve the rule of annual salary increase in the public sector by July 1 next year, but for that, the first steps need to be taken and a certain increase in salaries in 2022", said Giorgi Kakauridze.
