The Business Association of Georgia (BAG) Index published a report. According to the report, employment barometer is significantly improved in Q2 compared to the Q1 2020.
In Q2, 2021, the surveyed business generally had a positive outlook regarding employment for the next three months. The BAG employment barometer amounted to 27.4 points, marketing a significant improved, compared to both Q2 (by 30.2 points) and Q1 of 2021 (by 12.7 points).
In Q2 of 2021, compared to Q1 of 2021, the employment barometer indicator improved for all sectors, except the construction sector.
“In Q2 of 2021, compared to Q1 of 2021, the employment barometer indicator improved for all sectors, except the construction sector. The expectations of companies regarding employment in the construction sector worsened compared to the previous quarter, with only 12.5% expecting an increase in their number of employees. In Q2 of 2021, compared to Q1 of 2021, the improvement in the employment barometer indicator in the trade, manufacturing, and service sectors is a result of optimistic expectations regarding sales and sales prices in these sectors.
From a year-on-year perspective, it is worth noting that in Q2 of 2021, compared to Q2 of 2020, the employment barometer improved for all the reviewed sectors. The biggest improvement was recorded in the construction sector (by 41.1 points), while the smallest improvement was recorded in the trade sector (12.6 points).”, - the report reads.
