The former head of the National Tourism Administration, Maia Sidamonidze predicts, that the price of air tickets will return to the old level. This is how Maya Sidamonidze answered the question asked by TV-program "Business Morning", whether the period of "cheap flights" had ended, because the price of tickets for international flights becam expensive.

"In addition to increasing fuel and operating costs, today's airlines also have a shortage of working personnel. The problem is the boom in demand that the post-Covid period has created. There is so much demand that today the consumer is the least sensitive about prices. In the future, supply and demand will be arranged in such a way that there will be no more problems - neither flight cancellations nor high prices", Sidamonidze told BMGTV.

According to him, the airlines did not expect such a demand and now they do not have enough resources to meet it.

"The bigger problem for airlines today is the return of the staff who were dismissed amid the Covid period. The field of aviation is quite specific, therefore, now it costs twice as much to return this personnel. Therefore, along with costs, they also face problems with services", says Maia Sidamonidze.
