Media reports alleging that Azerbaijan is paying the cost of gas imported from Russia in rubles is wide off the mark, Report informs, citing the message of SOCAR's Public Relations and Communications Service.
The company has said that this information does not reflect reality.
Earlier, the director of the fourth department for the CIS countries under the Russian Foreign Ministry, Denis Gonchar, said in an interview with RIA Novosti that 30% of all trade between Russia and Azerbaijan is carried out in rubles.
