SpaceX Considers Georgia as a Pilot Country for Satellite Internet Services – GITA

According to the Georgian Innovation and Technology Agency (GITA), SpaceX considers Georgia as a pilot country for satellite internet delivery. This became known after the Georgian delegation paid a visit to SpaceX in the United States.
 
According to the GITA, Irakli Nadareishvili, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Avtandil Kasradze, Chairman of GITA, and Levan Beridze, Consul General of Georgia in San Francisco met with SpaceX's CFOs Bret Johnsen and David Finlay. They spoke about future collaborations. The meeting was also attended by one of SpaceX investors Bill Reichert.

"SpaceX has expressed interest in Georgia's involvement in the Internetization process, therefore they consider Georgia as one of the first pilot countries where SpaceX will provide satellite Internet to the population. The involvement of Georgia and Georgians in their future plans was also discussed.
 
As a result of the negotiations, SpaceX, with the help of #GITA, will soon start the official procedure for obtaining an ISP license in Georgia, ”the agency said in a statement.
 
Elon Musk's StarLink project aims to provide Earth with a global satellite Internet and cover the entire planet with the Internet. The ultimate goal of the project is to provide the world with much faster internet than is currently available.
 
According to the latest data, Space X has launched hundreds of satellites into Earth orbit and plans to launch another 40,000 artificial satellites in stages.
