Statistics of money transfer systems

According to the National Bank of Georgia (NBG), in December 2019, the volume of money transfers from abroad constituted 172.3 million USD (500.5 million GEL), which is 14.2% (21.4 million USD) more than the amount in December 2018.

To note, 95.0% percent of the total money transfers from abroad came from 19 largest partner countries, with the volume of transfers from these countries each exceeding 1 million USD in December 2019. In December 2018 the share of these 19 countries constituted 94.8% percent of the total volume of money transfers.

The volume of remittances in 2019 according to the transfer systems looks like this:

4 US - $ 178,411,697, up 11.8% over the previous year;
5 Israel - $ 162,547,994, up 7.3%comapring to the previous year;
6 Turkey - $ 94,846,134, down 10.4%comapring to the previous year;
7 Germany - $ 49,805,836, up 20.1%comapring to the previous year;
8 Spain - $ 47,303,094, up 13.8%comapring to the previous year;
9 Ukraine - $ 42,921,496, up 49.1% comparing to the previous year;
10 Poland - $ 31,491,140, up 70.5% comparing to the previous year;
11 Kyrgyzstan - $ 28,761,717, up 159.2% comparing to the previous year;
