Sunflower Oil Price Down By 10-15% - Baraqa
"In the last month, the price of sunflower oil has decreased by 10-15%. The current price ranges between GEL 4.5-6", - Irakli Tsikhistavi, director of "Alfa", producing company of "Baraqa" oil, told BM.GE.
The company imports the main part of sunflower oil from Russia, and speaking about the reasons for the price decrease, Tsikhistavi notes that it was caused by the devaluation of the ruble in Russia.
"Obviously, there may be other reasons, but the main one at this stage was the devaluation of the ruble in Russia, which will have an impact in the future as well.
At this stage we do not have a forecast on the issue of maintaining the price of oil, we are waiting for the development of events", says Irakli Tsikhistavi.
In January-November 2022, Georgia purchased 23,125 tons of sunflower oil worth USD 40.2 million, of which the share of the product imported from Russia was 19,937 tons worth USD 34.2 million.
