Tamar Archuadze, Deputy Head of the Georgian Civil Aviation Agency at the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, says that Georgian airports were able to retain both employees and business partners during the crisis.

" Georgian airports are still successfully coping with the crisis. All costs were reduced as much as possible, except for the costs required for keeping steadiness of the operation. TAV Georgia has not fired staff. Today, more than 2,500 persons are employed at Georgian airports, they maintain their positions and continue working according to different schedules," the director of the Georgian Airports Association told EuroNews Georgia.

As for safe travel in pandemic conditions, Tamar Archuadze says that all the necessary measures have been taken at Georgian airports to ensure safe travel.

Tamar Archuadze says that despite the crisis caused by COVID-19, Georgian airports have not lost their partner airlines and as soon as the epidemic allows, they will resume operations on the Georgian aviation market.

"We have not lost any partner airline. We are in daily contact with them. We have our schedules not only for 2020, but for 2021 as well, but it depends on the epidemic condition around the world and how the international borders will be opened. Unfortunately, the situation is not very favorable on the background of the second wave. However, we hope that we will be able to recover very actively from spring and we have a precondition for that. We assume actively return to the business from summer 2021, "- said Tamar Archuadze.

However, flights from Tbilisi and Kutaisi airports will be resumed in 10 directions from November 1.
