Representatives of employment portals in Georgia say that the number of vacancies was significantly reduced at the beginning of the pandemic (March-April). According to them, very small number of companies were looking for new staff during that period.
However, if we review the statistics of recent months, positive dynamics are already observed.
Companies are searching new staff actively in the resent period. In terms of sectors, decline is still observed in tourism and HORECA business, where companies still are not active. However, more and more companies are announcing vacancies in the service field.
"The tourism sector has disappeared; they are no longer active in terms of publishing vacancies. However, service sector has become more active. Taxi companies, shops, chain markets demand drivers, consultants, craftsmen. We hope that it is related to the development of local production,” said Paata Mamulashvili, director of dasaqmeba.ge.
