Folded sum will be spent from the City Budget in order to increase the investment potential of Tbilisi next year. Draft budget of Tbilisi 2020 envisages 385 thousand lari for that purpose.
Andira Basilaia, head of the city's economic development department, says that the city hall will conduct a labor force survey next year, as there has been a case when an investor needed information about the labor force but the municipality could not provide. After conducting a labor force survey, Tbilisi City Hall intends to train citizens in demanding professions.
“By 2020 we are going to conduct a labor force survey. Labor force is one of the major barriers we have. For example, the investor was particularly interested if there are 200 JAVA IT specialists in Tbilisi, unfortunately we do not have this information. Therefore, we should conduct research that will show us what the market demands, what are the opportunities and one of the programs that we can develop. If investors demands for a specific labor force, we will facilitate retraining of our citizens”, - says Andria Basilaia.
