The deputy head of the National Center for Disease Control considers it possible to use a Chinese-made vaccine and says the issue will be decided by the Immunization Council.
Paata Imnadze said citizens have the right to wait for recognition by the World Health Organization.
"Everyone knows my personal attitude - all the vaccines that have been tested on millions of people around the world should be used. So it's not just my attitude, there is an immunization board that solves this issue. The board will hopefully make that decision.
Those who are waiting can wait for a recommendation from the World Health Organization. There's an option for those who have confidence in conventional traditional vaccines because there is no difference in the technology of vaccine production. Someone likes modern technologies, someone likes antiques, ”said Imnadze.
The deputy head of the NCDC noted that the vaccination process was "slow" in European countries at the initial stage.
"This is exactly what happened in European countries when vaccination started, but the process is slow. In the beginning, there was skepticism. For me, the name of the vaccine does not matter. You can see that the vaccination registry is full of reserved places when people look at their vaccinated neighbors and relatives, they will see that vaccines work" - said Imnadze.
