"The process of economic recovery in March was quite positive. We expect that April will be better, which is important because the banking sector depends on economic activity. As for profitability, we would like better," said the banker.
According to him, despite last year, they have optimistic expectations for 2021.
"Despite the challenges of 2020, the sector as a whole ended relatively profitably in the first quarter of 2021. With the growth of the economy, the sector will be able to increase profits, which means that banks will be able to lend more. We think that in 2021 the economy in Georgia will grow by 4.3-4.7%, "said Vakhtang Butskhrikidze.
