According to the agency, the fruit processing enterprises involved in the state program received more than 35 thousand tons of non-standard apples.
As a result, they received more than GEL 9 million, including a state subsidy of more than GEL 3.5 million.
The state program to promote the sale of non-standard apples was launched in September. Under the state program, the subsidy was 10 tetri per 1 kg of non-standard apples.
All the fruit processing enterprises that could have purchased 1 kg of non-standard apples for not less than 22 tetri could be included in the program.
Within the framework of the state program, 13 non-standard apple processing enterprises procured non-standard apples in Shida Kartli, Kakheti, Mtskheta-Mtianeti, and Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti regions.
