Healthcare Minister Ekaterine Tikaradze declares, "today Georgia is not in the fifth wave of coronavirus spread, but we are at the end of the fourth wave. At the same time, the Minister of Health claims that the rate of infection will decrease in the coming days, as the rate of spread of the infection is down.
"In this case, we are not in the fifth wave. This is the fourth wave, which is not over yet, and it is important to put the right emphasis. According to our observations, the infection rate is decreasing and the rate stands at 1.03%, which means that the number of infected people will decrease in absolute numbers in the coming days," Tikaradze said.
According to the Minister of Health, at this stage the country has all the resources to manage patients in clinics, and if necessary, there is an alternative way to activate field hospitals.
"We have alternative way as well and these are field hospitals, but there is no need for that today," Tikaradze said.
