It has been a very productive meeting. We discussed a set of issues pertaining to COVID, long-term plans, and necessary healthcare system reforms, Healthcare Program Manager at WHO/Europe Nino Berdzuli stated after today’s meeting between Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia and WHO Regional Director for Europe Hans Kluge, at the Government Administration.
According to her, special emphasis was placed on the issue of vaccination.
“Importantly, there are several vaccines out there likely to be authorized for emergency assistance soon, though it is important to have the system ready for successful vaccination management. We know that, to that end, the Government of Georgia is actively working on a vaccination plan, with working groups in place and the World Health Organization’s regional office engaged in its development,” Nino Berdzuli said.
