According to the Prime Minister of Georgia, people who are employed in the retail-retail sector will receive 300 GEL from the state.
Giorgi Gakharia noted that the number of beneficiaries of the social assistance program will be about 100,000 - 120,000 people. Also, for people employed in the retail sector, who will temporarily lose their jobs due to restrictions and will have bank liabilities, the state will mediate with banks for deferral loans.
"The previous three waves of our business assistance and social assistance were extremely targeted. We did not know the scale of the epidemic and the economic crisis during the first wave and tried our best to distribute it to all social groups. Today, We are already separating the point groups, although we keep the principle of coverage.
We restrict retail trade, markets, malls, shops for a few weeks, and many citizens are employed here. Basically, these restrictions will be for 4-5 weeks. We set the same kind of targeted social assistance that we had for the self-employed during the first wave - it is in the amount of 300 GEL.
"We have started registering these people with the companies where they are employed, and in addition to this 300 GEL assistance, we take the responsibility to help every person employed in these sectors who has a bank loan," said the Prime Minister.
