Natia Turnava, Georgia's Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, talks about the temporary suspension of direct flights between Georgia and China over the risk of a coronavirus. The minister has noted that there is no reason to panic about the spread of the virus in Georgia at this time, though the government is likely to temporarily suspend direct air traffic between the two countries.

"First of all, we would like to inform you that different agencies are involved in a unified coordination group and we are doing our best to take the necessary preventive measures under the leadership of the Ministry of Health, but we are all participating.

I think we will have to make a decision and suspend direct flights to China, even though there is no reason to panic and Georgia is considered less of a danger zone, "the Minister said.

According to the government, visitors to China are currently being screened at the air border.
