As a result of inspection of 36 plants, over 1 million 808 pieces of packages have been sealed, Neli Korkotadze, Deputy Head of State Inspection has declared.
According to him, a total of 36 enterprises were identified and the state agency was introduced everywhere; In addition, inspections were carried out in the enterprises that were found during the inspection. The rest are still being searched.
“In December last year we carried out inspections of 36 plants. At the time of the inspection, 14 companies were producing packaging materials and they had the right to produce polyethylene. In 5 plants, we found that plastic bags were manufactured without any laboratory research and it was indicated so. We also obtained 12 samples that described that the park was biodegradable, although the results of laboratory tests indicated that plastic content was determined in 3 outof 12 samples. In total, as a result of inspections of 36 palnts, we sealed approximately 1 million 808 pieces of packages. We continue to work in this direction; In addition, we found other businesses that were not registered. We will follow this direction and inspect all the enterprises that we have checked at the first stage”, Neli Korkotadze said.
According to her, the fine amounts to 500 GEL in the case of violation of the rule.
