The financial accounts include the detailed information about the stocks and flows of financial assets and liabilities between all institutional sectors of the economy including the rest of the world. Accounts reflect various degrees on details. Financial accounts can represent the stocks of financial assets and liabilities, as well as flows on the aggregated level. Financial accounts describe from which institutional sector, by how much, for which sector and by what kinds of financial instrument financial resources were distributed and which financial intermediaries were involved in the cycle.
The implementation of the innovative statistical business process "Sebastat" which is in accordance with international statistical standards has enabled to collect high-quality detailed statistical information from financial institutions. Rely on this the National Bank of Georgia started working on compiling the financial accounts. At this stage, the National Bank of Georgia will disseminate the financial accounts on stocks of financial assets and liabilities with a quarterly frequency. At a following stage, will be disseminated the financial accounts on flow statistics.
