The Parliament Adopted The Legal Package On The Gambling And Prize-Winning Games

The Parliament, at the December 22 extraordinary session discussed with the III reading and adopted with 82 votes against one the Bill on Lotteries, Gambling and Prize-Winning Games.

According to the reporter, Chair of the Sector Economy and Economic Policy Committee, David Songulashvili, the Legal Changes have introduced the editorial remarks to the Bill after the II reading, ensuring stricter requirements.

The Bill is entailed with the public interest in the gambling sphere and envisages the increase of the age limit for the gambling to 25 (and 18 for the foreign citizens/stateless persons) and establishment of the list of the banned and compulsive gamblers, as well as prohibition of the public servants and socially vulnerable persons from gambling.

The change to the Bill entailed respective changes to seven more Laws.

The Bill is initiated by David Songulashvili, Levan Mgaloblishvili, Gela Samkharauli, Gocha Enukidze, Bezhan Tsakadze, Elguja Gotsiridze and Irakli (Dachi) Beraia. The Bill is submitted for accelerated consideration.
