Ekaterine Tikaradze, Minister Health got acquainted with the process of immunization of citizens at the Rukhi Republic Hospital.

It is noteworthy that Rukhi Republic Hospital has been involved in the anti-Covid-19 proceedings since day one. Citizens from the occupied territories can also be vaccinated at a medical facility.
 
Ekaterine Tikaradze also met with the representatives of the medical sector of the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region within the framework of the vaccination campaign "Let's Get Vaccinated for Each Other".
 
The parties discussed the importance and recommendations of mass vaccination. The activity of the representatives of the medical field in the process of vaccination was also discussed. To end the pandemic, the Minister stressed the importance of vaccination and highlighted the role of village doctors in the immunization process.
 
The event was attended by about 50 representatives of the medical sector and local self-government.

"The pace of vaccination is satisfactory throughout Georgia. Tbilisi and Adjara are leading in this regard. 11% of the population in Samegrelo is vaccinated. This is not satisfactory. Active communication with the population is important. For this purpose, I was at the Rukhi Republic Hospital. In the process of vaccination, it is important to activate rural doctors and communicate more with the population,"- said Ekaterine Tikaradze.

The Minister once again called on citizens over 60 to get vaccinated.

As of September 16, a total of 1,589,024 vaccinations had been administered. 928,192 people have been vaccinated with at least 1 dose - 32.5% of the adult population; 660,832 people are fully vaccinated - 23.1% of the adult population;

The government plans to vaccinate 60% of the population by the end of the year.
