Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili addressed anti-Namakhvani HPP protesters, saying that if anyone goes beyond the law, the state would respond accordingly.

According to Gharibashvili, “speaking the language of the ultimatum is categorically unacceptable and it is reminder of the 90s”.

“Speaking in the language of an ultimatum is categorically unacceptable. Every citizen should know that speaking with an ultimatum is a reminder of the dark 90s. We well remember that period, when all the activists were “experts of energy or transport”. What did we get? As you know, it was a civil war. We destroyed our country, we dismantled factories. An important part of our country was also occupied, which was the result of our previous irrational policies. I want to address all these people and call them to common sense. The state is governed by law and the Constitution and if anyone goes beyond the law, the state would respond accordingly,” Irakli Gharibashvili said.

Anti-Namakhvani HPP rally is being held on Rustaveli Avenue today.
