Top Investing Countries in Georgia -3Q21

The Foreign Direct Investments (FDI) in Georgia amounted to USD 728.4 million in 3Q2021, which was 3.2% more compared to the data of 3Q2020, - the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat) reports.

According to the report, USD 613 million or 84% out of the FDI accounted for the reinvestment.

The United Kingdom reaching USD 271.1 million was the major foreign direct investor country. FDI by major foreign direct investor countries are as follows:

1 United Kingdom - 271.1 million, an increase of 10% y-o-y
2 Netherlands - 106.4 million, a decrease from the previous year -41%
3 Czech Republic - 81 million, an increase of 2785% y-o-y
4 Turkey - 75.6 million, an increase of 107% y-o-y
5 Russia - 53.2 million, an increase of 81% y-o-y
6 United Arab Emirates - 30.6 million, an increase of 1158% y-o-y
7 Luxembourg - 28.6 million, an increase of 22% y-o-y
8 Germany - 26.1 million, an increase of 23% y-o-y
9 Japan - 20.3 million, an increase of 32% y-o-y
10 Switzerland - 20.3 million, an increase of 251% y-o-y.

According to the report, the largest share of FDI was registered in the financial sector, reaching USD 324.5 million in 2021, the energy sector was the second with USD 131 million, followed by the manufacturing sector with USD 40.6 million.
