Georgia resumed flights, but that is not enough to receive a large flow of tourists. Hotels still do not have guaranteed bookings for the near future due to the delayed vaccination in the country.

According to Shalva Alaverdashvili, founder of the Georgian Hotel, Restaurant and Café Federation, Georgia is on the list of countries where vaccination has not started and government of other countries indirectly urge their citizens to refrain from traveling.

"We hold daily negotiations, and have bookings from late May. Now we have some unconfirmed bookings. Most of the bookings come from the post-Soviet countries, but no one guarantees that they will arrive or pay some money in advance. It is a wish and they are not sure they will arrive”, - says Shalva Alaverdashvili.

According to the founder of the Georgian Hotel, Restaurant and Café Federation, the pandemic is in other countries and every country has its own regulations.

“One of the factors that affect us, is that vaccination is not started in Georgia yet. We are in the red zone because the vaccine has not arrived. European countries are directly urging their citizens to refrain from traveling to those countries where vaccination has not started yet... "- Shalva Alaverdashvili says.

The number of international travelers is 91% down y-o-y in February 2021. According to the National Tourism Administration, 42,075 foreign citizens visited the country last month, the number was 424,334 down.
