The total number of re-exported vehicles from Georgia during Oct 2020 has dropped by 637 units or 23.4% as compared to Sep 2020, when the number stood at 2, 718, the latest data of the Patrol Police of Georgia shows.

Out of total of 2, 081 transport means, Toyota is the most demanded brand on re-export, counting 315 units during Oct 2020. The major share or 188 units of re-exported vehicles were released in 2016. The number of vehicles released in 2015 was 183 and in 2014 - 180 units.

1973 Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight 2-door hardtop was the only vintage car re-exported from Georgia in Oct 2020.

Pursuant to TBC Capital’s recent market watch for automotive sector, in 9M of 2020, the imports and exports (USD) of light vehicles in Georgia fell by 31% and 37%, respectively. Causing a one-time surge in demand by end-2019, the new customs regulations in Armenia shut down this export market for Georgia in 2020, becoming a primary reason for the drop in exports, dragging the imports down as well (100% of Georgian exports is re-export).
