9785 road accidents have been registered in Georgia, during Q3 2020, up from 6847 as of Q2 2020. Number of fatalities reached 134 during the report period. Moving into an oncoming lane or violation of overtaking rules tops probable causes of traffic accidents registered under the Criminal Code.
 
According to the data of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, out of total 9785 traffic accidents registered during Q3 2020, 8348 cases were recorded under the Administrative Offences Code of Georgia and 1437– pursuant to the Criminal Code of Georgia. 
 
The total number of traffic accidents during 9 months reached 26073 in Georgia. Out of them, 22366 were registered under the Administrative Offences Code of Georgia and the remaining 3707 – under the Criminal Code. 

Number of fatalities during Jan-Sep 2020 was 337. 
 
Moving into an oncoming lane or violation of overtaking rules tops probable causes of traffic accidents registered under the Criminal Code. Exceeding the set speed of movement is the second most common probable cause of car accidents in Georgia.
