“The transfer or concession of space for social and mass entertainment events has been banned in Georgia against the backdrop of increased Covid-19 cases.

The ordinance obliges the owner of the space to take all reasonable measures, including by imposing a specific restriction in the contract, in order to prevent the use of the space for the purposes prohibited by the ordinance. In addition, the owner of the space is obliged to immediately notify the services as soon as he/she receives information about a violation", the government of Georgia noted in the official statement.

According to the current legislation, social gatherings of more than 10 people that are related to social events such as weddings, anniversaries, and celebrations are banned in Georgia.

However, people started to rent private houses or apartments to celebrate their events, Now the government has decided to ban this kind of gatherings as well amidst a rise in coronavirus cases.

Private entities who will violate this new rule will be fined 2,000 GEL, while legal entities will be fined 10,000 GEL.
