Jan Sliva, head of Czech Development Agency highlights that Georgia has great potential and a turning point is the association agreement with the EU, as well as DCFTA and the visa free regime.

“Just this morning, we discussed the impact of DCFTA on Georgia, which is not negligible. It's perhaps, you know, smaller maybe than on the other two countries, Moldova and Ukraine. But that's because Georgia is further away from the EU. But, for sure, it's the EU's intention to allow as much export from Georgia as possible”, - Jan Sliva said.

According to head of Czech Development Agency, Georgia must offer niche products like nuts, honey or wine. To his mind, there is great potential, as the EU is trying to, make all the conditions possible for exports and for economic development. Jan Sliva advices Georgian producers try to approximate the standards to EU standards so that the exports are easier to make.

“It's about labeling. It's about making the products eligible also for export. So, this this pertains to, for example, laboratories, you know, testing and all that. So basically, try to approximate the standards to EU standards so that the exports are easier to make. That would be my number one thing. And, of course, the productivity I mean, you know, we talk about things that are outside of my scope, but, you know, the organization of labor productivity and all that. But the potential is there. And, of course, it's been recognized by EU law in association countries”, Jan Sliva said.
