Turkey's flour exports reached 2 million tons in the first eight months of 2020, the head of the Turkish Flour Industrialists' Federation (TFIF) said Thursday.
Turkey's main flour export destinations this January-August were Iraq, Yemen, Angola, Venezuela, and Benin, Eren Gunhan Ulusoy told Anadolu Agency.
Wheat production rose 8% this year versus the same period last year to reach 20.5 million tons, he noted.
Turkey is the world's largest flour exporter and second-largest pasta exporter.
Turkey's overall exports in the eight-month period totaled $12.5 billion.
