Turkish Jewelry Sector's Exports Reach $1.4B in 4 Months

Turkey's jewelry sector's exports reached US$1.4 billion, up by 32.8% year-on-year in the first four months period of 2021. The US was the top destination for Turkish jewelry exporters. Turkey is among the top ten largest exporters of jewelry on the global market. 
 
The leading destination of the Turkish jewelry products was the US, with US$229.6 million imports from Turkey, up by 32.8% in the January-April period, on an annual basis, reports ANADOLU agency. 
 
The UAE (US$185.35 million), Hong Kong (US$119.67 million), Switzerland (US$88.1 million) and Libya (US$80.6 million) followed the US.
Istanbul took the lion's share by making 92% of all jewelry exports during the four-month period.

The country's overall exports totaled US$68.8 billion over the same period. 
 
According to Statista, in 2019, the UAE was the leading exporter of gold, silverware, and jewelry to the rest of the world, with an export value of around 16.5 billion U.S. dollars. China, ranked second, exported approximately US$15.9 billion worth of those goods that year. The rest of the top ten countries has been distributed in the following way: India - US$ 13 801.1 mln, Switzerland - US$ 11 828 mln, the US - US$ 10 204.8 mln, China, Hong Kong SAR - US$ 8 840.4 mln, France - US$ 8 002.4 mln, Italy - US$ 7 691 mln, United Kingdom - US$ 6 973.7 mln and Turkey - US$ 5 151.9 mln.
